Palm Coast - A Unique Design

Palm Coast was developed in the 1970s as a master-planned community. The city is home to over 75,000 people and is the perfect place to retire or raise a family. Palm Coast is known for its incredible weather, with an average temperature of 74 degrees and beautiful beaches. There are also many golf courses and swimming pools in the area. Palm Coast was designed by the same landscape architect who designed the world-famous Central Park in New York City. The city has a beautiful park system that includes over 100 miles of trails and parks. There are also many different types of recreation available in Palm Coast, such as fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and bird watching. The city is also home to several different types of sports teams, including the Palm Coast Soccer Club, the Palm Coast Tennis Center, and the Palm Coast Water Polo Club. There are also many different types of schools in Palm Coast, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Palm Coast even has a satellite campus for Daytona State College.

One of the most unique parts about Palm Coast are the alphabetically designed residential communities. These include "A" section, "B" section, "C" section and so on. The reason for the alphabetical sections is that when the city was being designed, the architect wanted each street to have a unique name. This way, people would be able to easily find their way around the city. For example, the "B" section is located on the north side of the city in close proximity to Interstate 95 and US Highway 1. The "S" section is located on the south side of the city near the Town Center and a few short miles from Flagler Beach.

If you traveled north or south on Belle Terre Parkway you would find other residential neighborhoods that are referred to as the "E, P, W, and R" Sections. The most basic understanding for the sections is that each section begins with the identifiable letter. For example, every road in the "B" section begins with the letter "B" and so forth. The "A" section is the only notable difference as it begins with the letters "A" and "Z". The reason for this is because the "A" section was actually the first section to be built out in Palm Coast. Though this may seem confusing to newcomers in the beginning, however a couple days of driving around will get you familiar with the cities structured layout.

Additionally, Palm Coast is home to the beachside community referred to as "The Hammock" This area is made up of several neighborhoods including but not limited to: Hammock Dunes, Sea Colony, Cinnamon Beach, Ocean Hammock, and The Reserve. These are all private gated communities that offer residents a luxury lifestyle. Many of these neighborhoods have their own golf courses, tennis courts, pools, and clubhouses.
