Most Americans see real estate as a solid long term investment. A survey showed that 94% of both homeowners and prospective buyers see home ownership as an important part of their long-term financial planning. Tim Rood, chairman of the business advisory firm “The Collingwood Group”, said that real estate is one of the last legitimate wealth creating opportunities. Mr. Rood said that the leveraged return (a return on your investment made with a loan) if you put down 10% on a house with today’s trajectory of appreciation is such that you’re going to get your money back inside of a year. He also expects you to get a continuing 5 to 10 % appreciation on your investment (your new home). Real estate continues to be a sensational long term investment. Let’s discuss the opportunities available in today’s market.
